TIRED OF GIFTS THAT SUCK? ALTERNATIVE HOLIDAY BOOK BAZAAR OFFERS BOOKS, ART…AND FREE BEER.

Featuring L.A. Authors & Artists, Booze & Live DJs

December 13th Event Is An Alternative To The Mall.

Tired of shopping for gifts that suck? Sick of getting stuck in mall parking lots with homicidal shoppers hell bent on bumming out your holiday high? F*#% that! This holiday season, try something new, something cool, something different…like the fifth annual ALTERNATIVE HOLIDAY BOOK BAZAAR, Saturday, December 13th, 5-9 pm at Wax Poetic Gallery in Burbank. It’s a party where you can buy all your holiday gifts and hobnob with strange people. The worst thing that can happen is that you’ll meet some amazing writers and artists, drink free beer, and have a good time. Any hey, maybe you’ll even pick up personally autographed books and art for all your pals, and get your shopping done in one fell swoop.

Organized by local writers Rob Cohen & David Wollock (Etiquette For Outlaws, Been There, Done That!), THE ALTERNATIVE HOLIDAY BOOK BAZAAR offers shoppers a chance to sup-port the wares of local writers and artists, most of whom will be on hand to personally sign their work. It doesn’t hurt that in Los Angeles, “local writers and artists” includes some big name tal-ent!

“It’s nice to give and get gifts that are personal,” says Cohen. “And after hitting up a few friends for autographed copies of their books to use as presents, we concocted this event. Every year it gets bigger, both in terms of the crowd we bring in and the authors who participate.”

The event will also feature free booze, and live DJs doing Xmas “mash-ups.” Admission is FREE. Wax Poetic is located at 3208 West Magnolia, Burbank. Store number is (818) 843-9469, or visit www.WaxPoeticGallery.com.

Q: I'm a straight guy but one of my closest guy friends is gay and when he gets drunk, he hits on me. He even kissed me once and I just brushed it off. He's been doing this for a while and I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to make a big issue of it, but I'm not gay, so, how do I tell him to stop?

-Dong Dread in Detroit

A: Hmmmm. He kissed you and you just brushed it off? And, you let him continually hit on you? Are you sure you're not curious perhaps? READ THE REST OF THE ANSWER AND MORE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS HERE.

Q: I'm thinking about getting my boyfriend's initials tattooed on me somewhere, but my friends keep telling me not to do it. I know it sounds crazy because I'm 20 and we're only dating, but I don't care. What do you think?

-Unsure in Upstate New York

A: If it "sounds" crazy to you, it's because it is mother-fucking ca-ray-zeeee with a capital C! If you're boyfriend's initials are B.M. then I'd say go for it because it's a Big Mistake and that's what that B.M.... CLICK HERE TO READ THE WHOLE COLUMN

SHARON OSBOURNE: CHARM SCHOOL Q&A 10/29/08

Sharon Osbourne trashes Sarah Palin. Here's a snippet of my interview. For the full story, go to SuicideGirls.com.

CBV:Before we get to the Charm School girls, I'm dying to know what you think of Vice President nominee Sarah Palin.

SO:I don't think the woman has the qualifications it takes. She doesn't have the world knowledge. She's just not right for this job she's been put in. She hasn't got the back up. She's got the balls. She's a ballsy little cow. But she doesn't have the goods. She doesn't have the education. And, I think that her views on life are antiquated. I don't want her telling a generation of girls what to do with their body. How dare she? I think that her views on life are very, very archaic. You can tell she's from fucking Alaska. I mean total bubble. I'm totally against what she does with animals. Have you heard what she does with the right paw?

CBV:Oh God. Do I want to hear this?

SO:She cuts off the right paw, takes it into the bar, and gets free drinks in the bar. It's hideous! The woman's got balls, but she hasn't got the back up. She is just archaic. Where the fuck does she come up with some of her views? Even down to her religion. Whatever turns you on. But, I'm sorry, being part of a church that speaks in tongues and they talk about witches. It's like, "Are you nuts?"
